Awesome twist
I love the ending!!! I found myself holding my breath in anticipation. It's nice to see a movie that shows the raw talent of everyone involved. It's a realistic story with a creative plot. A must see!
Badass!
With dynamic acting, brilliant cinematography, and southern charm Broken Blood keeps you on the edge of your seat. The writing is reminiscent of Elmore Leonard with characters leaping off the screen. Playing a dual role of twins, co-writer/director Derek Wayne Johnson turned two excellent, realistic performances, while also directing a cast and getting a different side out of prolific character actors known more for other types of roles. The characters were fun to watch, and make you want to know more about them. Ali Costello did an excellent job as the southern belle, girl-next-door love interest and had great on-screen chemistry with Johnson. I've already watched it twice!
very cool indie film
The script is well written, the acting is top notch, and the directing is incredible. Derek Wayne Johnson portrays twin brothers with sincerity and does a fantastic job. I kept forgetting that he played both characters because he was so believable as twins! You also forget he's an unknown actor because he is so good that he demands your attention like a movie star! My only wish is that the character of Stanley would have been seen more throughout the film, but perhaps that was intentional. Two thumbs up!
